Crossfade Studio is a 100% black-owned audio production studio based in Cape Town, South Africa, producing sonic branding, sound design and audio post-production for the advertising, media and branded content world.
Since 2015 we've been crafting with a little Kaapstad swagger, working with agencies, production companies and brands locally and internationally.
At the centre of it all is Lindsay Johnson, Crossfade’s founder and creative production wizard, who brings over 20 years of professional audio experience to every project.
Born and raised in Cape Town, Lindsay has spent decades refining his ear for what makes audio cut through and connect with audiences.
He spent over 16 years inside some of South Africa’s top commercial radio stations, shaping the sound of brands like 947, Talk Radio 702, KFM 94.5 and Smile 90.4FM and helping design the launch sound for Smile FM in 2013.
That experience built a deep understanding of how sound shapes brand identity, storytelling and audience emotion.
Today that same instinct carries through into campaign sound design, branded content, podcasts and long-form storytelling.
